Bio

Dr. Nikolaos S. Thomaidis, Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, is specialized in Environmental and Food Chemistry. He is the member of editorial boards for two scientific journals (Analytical Methods and Global NEST Journal), guest editor of four journals (Analytica Chimica Acta, Analytical Letters, Journal of Hazardous Materials and Chemosphere) and a reviewer for 52 international journals. Prof. Thomaidis leads a dedicated scientific group, Trace Analysis and Mass Spectrometry (TrAMS) group (http://trams.chem.uoa.gr/) and has established a constant research activity in the last 25 years (237 papers and 15 book chapters, >7,400 citations, h-55). Moreover, Prof. Thomaidis has extensive experience in supervising and coordinating research projects with both national and European funding. The current research interest of TrAMS group is focused on the development of cutting-edge methodologies and workflows to fully characterize the molecular picture “fingerprint” of environmental samples and foodstuff, based on High Resolution Mass Spectrometric (HRMS) analysis, using both LC-ESI- and GC-APCI- QTOFMS.
