Dr. Dimitra Vagiona is a Professor of Sustainable Development and Project and Environmental Management at the Department of Spatial Planning and Development, School of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). She holds a diploma in Civil Engineering from AUTh and has received her PhD in Water Resources Management from the Department of Civil Engineering of AUTh. She has been PMP certified since 2012. Her teaching responsibilities refer to environmental management, sustainable tourism development, project management and strategic planning. Her research interests focus on sustainable development, environmental impact assessment, water resources management, renewable energy resources, spatial planning, project management, analytical tools for decision-making, environmental economics and integrated environmental management and planning. She has participated in 24 research projects. She has published 6 books and 4 chapters in books. Her published work includes 56 papers in scientific journals and more than 100 publications in scientific conferences (review process). She acts a reviewer in various scientific journals (e.g. Water Resources Management, Urban Water, European Water, Environmental Processes, Ecological Economics, International Journal of Environment and Sustainability, Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, Energies, Environments, Sustainability, Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments, Frontiers in Marine Science, Energy Reports, Operational Research, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences) and she has participated in the organizing and scientific committee of various conferences related to the protection of the environment.
