Bio

Despina Kenteroglou is a design engineer, with studies in Ecology & Conservation of Biodiversity at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and in Sustainable Engineering and Climate Change at the Technical University of Crete.

During her MSc studies, she was an academic scholar at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Foundation. Besides having been involved in different projects in France, Portugal and the Netherlands, she has collaborated with the “Biomimicry Greece Research and Innovation Centre” exploring the potential of solar glasses in a small-scale installation in Larisa and she has worked in environmental education workshops for kids.

Amazed by nature’s strategies, assets and functionalities, she wishes to explore the functional intersection between engineering, biology (with a focus on fungi) and society.
