In addition, fast fashion, characterized by the rapid production and turnover of low-cost clothing, has a significant impact on global water resources. Direct and indirect impacts of fashion on water pollution must be considered examining the entire lifecycle of clothing production, from raw material extraction to post-consumer disposal. The presentation makes an overview considering the relationship of the buyers and the clothes starting from 1920 until today. Moreover, recent data regarding per capital spending on clothing, raw materials (eg. Cotton) production, clothing water foot print, carbon dioxide projection from apparel industry, textiles generation from EU households are presented.
