There is a need to propose and adopt Zero Waste to Energy strategy for the Cyprus Ministry of Defence as defence sector face several challenges considering circular economy action plan, SDGs and European Gren Deal strategy. The proposed framework covers every stage of the textile lifetime, including design, procurement, maintenance, reuse, and recycling, focusing on the circular economy concepts. The use of cutting-edge technology, like smart materials and thermal disassembly systems, promotes resource efficiency and minimized environmental impact. According to preliminary research, a Zero Waste to Energy facility could greatly reduce textile waste, reduced greenhouse emissions, and recover energy.
