DYNAMIC AND EMBEDDED MULTICRITERIA ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING AND CONTROL OF LARGE CIVIL ENGINEERING PROJECTS
VR1
Thursday 2 September 16:30
- 16:45
The research present a novel dynamic and embedded multi criteria methodology for the environmental monitoring and control of large-scale civil engineering works subjected to environmental impact assessment procedure. The principal phases are discussed and highlighted, along with the identification of the analysis indicators and the evaluation criteria.
In order to share in real-time the results of the monitoring activities with the stakeholders, the methodology is integrated with an Cartographic Informative System, developed on a web-GIS platform. The system allows to manage big environmental data, thanks to the possibility of overlaying different types of information to assess the fate of the contaminants in the environmental matrices.
The application and validation of the proposed methodology is highlighted with reference to a real case of application of an enlargement and expansion of the port entrance area in a large port areas.
Results show the effectiveness of using the proposed methodology to standardize monitoring activities and to provide immediate information to control the environmental pressures and identify mitigation actions.
