Current Technologies and Practices in Contaminated Site Management: A US EPA Superfund Program Perspective

Mr. Carlos Pachon is a Senior Environmental Protection Specialist with the USEPA Superfund Program, based at headquarters in Washington, DC. A main focus of his work is identifying and advancing best practices and new technologies in cleaning up contaminated sites and synthesizing overall trends in environmental challenges and solutions in the field. Carlos also leads Superfund efforts to advance green remediation and to integrate climate resilience into cleanup programs, and he currently leads a cross-agency workgroup developing Interim PFAS destruction and disposal guidance. He completed undergraduate studies at Colorado State University (BS), with a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Georgetown MBA.
