Title of the speech: Bacterial Battle: Unleashing Nature's Mediators to Combat Biofouling
Dr. Choo is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering and the Director of the Advanced Institute of Water Industry at Kyungpook National University, Korea. He received his Ph.D. from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1996 and has worked on membrane technology for water and wastewater treatment, pursuing breakthrough innovations for novel membranes and membrane processes. His recent research interests include quorum quenching membrane bioreactors, electrochemical membrane filtration, and iron oxide-coated media filtration. He is keen to find synergistic strategies for the best separation, treatment, abatement, and recovery practices in managing water and wastewater streams. He has been an active member of several academic societies, such as the Korean Society of Environmental Engineers, the Membrane Society of Korea, the International Water Association, and the World Filtration Congress.
