Iliana Papamichael has studied Chemical Engineering (2014-2019) and holds an integrate Master’s in Chemical Engineering (2019) from the National Technical University of Athens. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Open University of Cyprus and the Lab of Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability (2021-current). Her PhD thesis focuses on the quantification of environmental performance using Key Performance Indicators in urban settings while. Her scientific interests and research background involve: unified waste metrics, gamification of environmental performance, waste management digitalization methods, Strategic planning development, zero waste approach, waste prevention etc., waste minimization monitoring and evaluation, end of waste criteria, Sustainable development programs (environmental, social culture and economics), Environmental Impact and Environmental Risk Assessment Analysis / multi criteria analysis models / LCA / SWOT-PESTEL analysis, EMAS, ISO 14001, circular economy etc. She is also a research fellow at the Open University of Cyprus in cooperation with the Lab of Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability regarding European programs.
Since 2021, she has published 20 scientific papers (+10 which have been submitted) in more than 10 different scientific journals (most of them with impact factor more than 4 and some of them closed to 10) and has 5 presentations in International and National Conferences. Her Google Scholar h-index is > 5 in one-year. Until now, she has taken part in 2 research programs in the last year (as scientific co-operator):
