Alessandra Cesaro is Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Napoli Federico II. She graduated cum laude as M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Salerno in February 2009 and in 2013 she received her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Visiting researcher at the University of Stuttgart in 2009 as well as at the Technical University of Hamburg in 2012, dr Cesaro was Substitute Member of the Management Committee and Leader of the Group of Young Researchers for the COST Action ES 1407 from March 2015 to March 2019. Since 2016 she is Member of the Scientific Committee of the International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST) and in 2017 she became also Member of the International Advisory Board of the International Conference on Environmental Research and Technology (ICERT). In April 2017 she has been qualified to the associate professorship. Her research focuses on the sustainable management of solid waste, with particular reference to the integration of Advanced Oxidation Processes and biological treatments for the recovery of organic residues. More recently, dr Cesaro has also worked on the valorization of valuable materials from waste electrical and electronic equipment. She is co-author of several papers, published either in indexed scientific journals or as international conference proceeding and served as Guest Editor for Global Nest Journal and Waste and Biomass Valorization.
