Research officer (chargé d’études) for soil protection and contaminated sites, Environmental Agency, Luxemburg

"Towards a soil protection law in Luxembourg"

Mr. Pol Tock pursued a higher education at the University of Münster (Germany), where he was awarded a bachelors of science degree from the Institute of Landscape Ecology. Mr. Tock proceeded to complete the EnvEuro Master programme in Environmental Science, receiving a double masters of science degree from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Hohenheim (Germany) and the Faculty of Science from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark).

He is currently a research officer (chargé d’études) for soil protection and contaminated sites management within the «Unité stratégies et concepts» at the Environment Agency of Luxembourg. As such Mr. Tock has been involved in drafting the Luxembourgish soil protection bill as well as several other legal and technical documents on soil protection and contaminated land management. In his function Mr. Tock is also a member of the: the Common Forum on Contaminated Land in Europe, the EU expert group on soil protection and the EIONET NRC on Soil.

After a short stay at Copenhagen University as research assistant Mr. Tock relocated back to Luxembourg and worked as Ecologist and as Project assistant for contaminated sites investigations in the private sector before joining the Environment Agency in 2016.
